The Seeds We Plant

As a fifth- and sixth-grade teacher in Watts, I once had a class of 40 students. Among them were children facing profound challenges—one with brain cancer, another an amputee battling a different form of cancer, and one student with such severe behavioral issues that the school psychologist advised extreme caution in interacting with him.

Arizona State Prison: Gods Eyes

In my first ministry, I received a letter from the Arizona State Prison. The writer indicated that he saw a Science of Mind magazine in the prison library, and he chose to write to me. He was on death row. We corresponded for several months, and on one occasion he requested $20.

If We Cannot Laugh Where God Is, Where Else Could We Laugh?

I was asked to visit a home for abused children by a member of the El Centro CSL congregation. I arrived at the facility on a school day at approximately 2:00 PM, and about twelve children were sitting and watching television.
