The Seeds We Plant
As a fifth- and sixth-grade teacher in Watts, I once had a class of 40 students. Among them were children facing profound challenges—one with brain cancer, another an amputee battling a different form of cancer, and one student with such severe behavioral issues that the school psychologist advised extreme caution in interacting with him.
